'Police plane' seen circling over Sheffield

A ‘police plane’ has been spotted circling repeatedly over Sheffield tonight.

The plane was seen ‘flying laps’ around the Treeton area this evening (Monday, April 27) where it remained for around an hour.

The flight-tracking website radarbox24.com shows a flight UKP153 circling numerous time over Treeton and Waverley. It now appears to be headed towards Robin Hood Airport.

The aircraft is listed as a Vulcanair P 68R Victor, which is understood to be operated by the National Police Air Service.

The flight tracker does not describe where the plane took off or where and when it might be scheduled to land.

It appears to have left Robin Hood Airport before travelling down to Leicestershire, back up to Buxton in Derbyshire where it circled a few times and then on to Sheffield.
