POLICE patrols are to be stepped up in Clay Cross to tackle anti-social behaviour and violent crime.
Officers will be visiting areas around the town’s pubs and trouble hotspots to clamp down on underage drinking and alcohol-related offences.
There will be an increased police presence on Friday and Saturday nights, particularly around pub closing times.
PC Adam Bryan of the Clay Cross Safer Neighbourhood Team said: “The operation has been set up to tackle issues in the area including criminal damage, violence and anti-social behaviour.
“Many of these issues are alcohol-related and are more likely to take place at the weekend so we plan to have a high visibility presence in the area to deter troublemakers and reassure those people having a quiet evening out.”
