POLICE in South Yorkshire spent over 100 hours travelling on buses and trains to crack down on anti-social behaviour.

Officers were looking for people using fake passes or trying to dodge fares.

Officers seized alcohol from some youths, arrested a man for carrying drugs and searched 34 others on suspicion of drug offences.

Sergeant Wayne Vernon said: “Officers regularly patrol passenger transport routes to reassure passengers and tackle crime and antisocial behaviour.”
