Police officers in Derbyshire turn to Twitter

Have your say

Residents in Dronfield, Eckington and Killamarsh have the chance to keep up-to-date with their local police on Twitter.

Officers have joined the social networking site to help them keep in touch with the local communities they serve.

They have joined colleagues from 42 other Safer Neighbourhood teams across Derbyshire who have volunteered to tweet from the streets and keep residents informed about their work.

The officers will use Twitter to share details of daily patrols, operations they take part in and to offer crime prevention advice.

They will also make appeals for information about local crime.
