Police officer injured after car rams vehicles in 14-car chase on M1

A police officer was injured when a motorist rammed into “numerous” police vehicles during a pursuit on the M1 motorway involving no fewer than 14 cars.

Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit said the officer suffered minor injuries following the incident which took place at around 7pm on Wednesday on a stretch of the M1 in the county. South Yorkshire Police were pursuing a man driving a stolen black Renault KADJAR, with 14 police vehicles involved in the chase.

The man was caught and arrested.
