BOLSOVER residents can report a crime while they are paying their council tax now that police officers have moved into the District Council offices.
Sherwood Lodge is now doubling up as a police station as well as council offices in a move aimed at saving money and making bobbies more accessible to members of the public.
Bolsover District Council’s cabinet member for community safety, Coun Brian Murray-Carr, said: “We are delighted to welcome Bolsover Police into the offices.
“It makes sense really to have as many public services as possible in one building so our residents can do the majority of their business in one place. We have a very close working relationship with the police and this move will only improve this further.”
Bolsover police station was based on Lime Kiln Fields - half a mile out of the town centre - but was said to have been cramped for employees.
