Three men have been arrested as part of an investigation into historical allegations of child sexual exploitation in Rotherham.

The arrests were made today after officers raided five homes in the Goole area of East Yorkshire.

Two men, aged 35 and 39, were arrested this morning on suspicion of committing a number of sexual offences against underage girls between 1990 and 2001.

A third man, aged 38, was arrested this afternoon.

Officers have a number of investigations into child sexual exploitation underway following the publication of Professor Alexis Jay’s report into the issue in Rotherham, suggesting 1,400 children were abused over a 16 year period.
