Police launch appeal following fatal Sheffield collision

Police are looking to speak to anyone who witnessed a grey Volkswagen Passat Estate driving in the Fox Hill area of Sheffield on Saturday (15 February).

At approximately 5.50pm, police received reports that a woman was lying injured in the street at Fox Hill Crescent, about 20m from the junction with Edge Well Crescent, after being involved in a collision with a vehicle which had immediately fled.

The woman, 64, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her family are receiving support from specialist officers.

Following the incident, a 25-year-old Sheffield man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and other driving offences. He has since been released under investigation.

The incident took place on Fox Hill Crescent.

Officers are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen the VW Passat, witnesses to the collision and any motorists who may hold dash cam footage.
