South Yorkshire Police said Tier 3 and lockdown fines have been handed out for ‘failing to self-isolate, failing to quarantine and refusing to wear a face mask in retail premises’.

They have also been handed out to those found ‘participating in gatherings’.

Ahead of the lockdown coming into force, South Yorkshire Police urged people to ‘follow the rules’ and warned that blatant breaches would be met with fines.
