Police investigating arson attack in Doncaster release CCTV images

Police investigating a suspected vehicle arson in Doncaster have released CCTV images and issued an appeal for witnesses.

At approximately 8pm on Sunday (December 8), a Volkswagen camper van, was reportedly set on fire by three unidentified individuals while it was parked on the driveway of a property in Station Road, Bawtry.

One of the suspects is believed to have smashed the window of the vehicle before another suspect poured accelerant - believed to be petrol - into the window and onto the van.

The van was then set alight, with the suspects running away from the scene along Station Road and possibly onto Thorne Road.

In a statement, South Yorkshire Police said: "Investigating officers have released CCTV stills of the incident and are urging anyone who may have witnessed the arson, or saw suspicious activity, to get in touch.

"Two of the suspects were wearing dark clothing, one suspect is believed to have been wearing a red camouflage jacket. All three had their hoods up.

"Did you see anyone matching that description in the area at the time?".
