TEENAGERS using fake ID to get into pubs are being warned they face prosecution.

A new police crackdown in Chesterfield will see police handing out leaflets this Saturday warning young people about the consequences of using fake ID – both for themselves and for those they borrow cards from. Police and Pubwatch officials also plan to visit schools and colleges.

Inspector Glyn Jones, head of licensing for Chesterfield, warned: “If you use your older brother or sister’s passport or driving licence and you get caught we will seize it and send it back to the issuer.

“That could mean they won’t be able to drive or go on summer holiday with their friends – not to mention the time and cost in replacing it.”
