Police hunt young yobs shooting at ducks in Doncaster park
Police in Doncaster are hunting young yobs who have been shooting at ducks in a popular park.
Officers are investigating a number of incidents in Thorne's Memorial Park where shots have been taken at the park’s resident waterfowl.
A spokesman for Doncaster East Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “For most of the people of Thorne, Thorne Park on South Parade is a community area enjoyed by town residents.
"Unfortunately, we have had several reports that there are youths who spend their time scaring the ducks by taking pot shots at them with air rifles.
"Not only is this totally unacceptable but the people involved are committing offences.
"Do you know where your children are? Are they taking an air rifle out with them? If you have any information regarding these incidents, please contact 101.”
Callers are asked to quote incident number 766 30/01/21 for the attention of PC3697 Barrowcliffe if they have information.
