Police hunt stranger who offered boy a lift home in his car

A boy aged 11 was approached by a stranger in a car who pulled up alongside him and offered the youngster a lift home.

Police officers investigating the incident were told that the boy was walking his dog along Gore Lane, Bradwell, Derbyshire, when a man in a grey car pulled up next to him.

The boy turned down the man’s offer of a lift home and the car drove off.

The youngster told police officers the driver was white, aged in his forties, with blonde curly hair and stubble on his face.

He was believed to have been wearing black and blue cycling style clothing.

A Derbyshire Police spokeswoman said it was a ‘suspicious incident’.
