A man is being hunted by police after he attempted to rape a woman in a Sheffield car park.
The attacker targeted his 19-year-old victim as she walked along Upwell Street, Grimesthorpe, late at night.
Police said the man approached the woman and started talking to her before attempting to rape her in a nearby car park.
He ran off in the direction of Holywell Road after the assault, which happened at around 12.10am on Friday, August 7.
The attacker was Asian, around 19-years-old and 5ft 7ins tall.
He had short, black, greasy hair with some facial hair.
It is thought he was wearing a dark blue top with a logo on the left side.
He is also believed to have been carrying a black rucksack at the time.
A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “Police in Sheffield investigating the attempted rape of a 19-year-old woman have issued an E-fit appeal for witnesses and information.
“At around 12.10am on Friday 7 August, the 19-year-old woman was walking along Upwell Street in Grimesthorpe, Sheffield, when an unknown man approached her and engaged the woman in conversation.
“He is understood to have attempted to rape the woman in a car park area close to Upwell Street a short time after, before running off in the direction of Holywell Road.
“The victim was not injured during the incident and is receiving the support of specialist officers.
“Despite extensive enquiries, no arrests have been made.
“Detectives are issuing an E-fit of the suspect in the hope it will encourage people with information to come forward.”
