Police hunt gang over Sheffield running shop burglary

A masked gang who carried out a raid on a specialist running gear shop in Sheffield are being hunted by police.

Officers were called to specialist running shop, Front Runner, in Sharrow Vale Road at around 11:30pm on Monday, July 1 following reports that a burglary was in progress.

It is believed that three or four suspects, who were all wearing masks, arrived in a white van and took numerous items, leaving the scene before police arrived.

The van is said to have travelled along Sharrow Vale Road towards Sharrow Lane.

Posting on Facebook after the incident, Front Runner said: “Unfortunately we’ve been broken into again. They obviously hadn’t checked the weather forecast as they’ve taken our waterproofs and long sleeve tops!

“We’ll be open as normal tomorrow.”

Police are now reviewing nearby CCTV footage and are following up lines of enquiry.
