Police hunt continues after man is stabbed in chest in Sheffield street

A police hunt is continuing this afternoon for an attacker who stabbed a man in his chest in a Sheffield street.

Violence flared on Main Road, Darnall, at around 9pm yesterday and a man in is 20s was taken to hospital with wounds to his arms and chest.

His injuries are not life threatening but the man remains in hospital this afternoon for treatment.

South Yorkshire Police said: “An investigation has been launched after police were called to the Darnall area of Sheffield last night to a suspected stabbing.

“Shortly before 9pm, officers were deployed to Main Road following a report that a man had been stabbed.

“A man in his twenties was taken to hospital with injuries to his chest and arms. These are not thought to be life threatening but he remains in hospital for treatment.

“A police cordon remains in place as enquiries continue.”
