Police flood Doncaster housing estate amid reports of major incident
Police have flooded a Doncaster housing estate amid reports of a major incident.
It is understood a large number of police vehicles and officers were at an address in Bosworth Road, Adwick-le-Street yesterday.
Details are not clear, but there were reports of a number of scenes of crime officers carrying out searches in the area. Information relating to the incident has only just emerged.
It comes after police launched an investigation after shots were fired at a house only a few metres away.
Yesterday, police were appealing for information about an incident which took place at about 2.35am, when it is reported that a dark coloured estate car, driving along Lutterworth Drive, Adwick-le-Street, stopped outside of a property and an occupant fired a weapon at the address.
Bosworth Road backs onto Lutterworth Drive but it is not known if the two incidents are connected.
Damage was caused to a car on the drive and to the downstairs window of the property. The occupants of the house, a couple and their young child, were at home at the time but were not injured.
Detective Sergeant Lee Szedzielarz investigating, said: “Enquiries are underway to establish why this property was targeted and identify those involved.
“We believe the suspects left the area heading towards Red House Lane and I’d like to appeal to anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious at around that time.”
