Police dog catches man who raced away from officers during chase through Sheffield

A man has been charged with drink driving after a police chase in Sheffield.

The 28-year-old, from Woodhouse, was arrested after he failed to pull over for a police officer patrolling the suburb in the early hours of yesterday.

His Ford Focus was followed through Woodhouse until the driver abandoned the car and fled.

A police dog was deployed and the driver was found, arrested and charged with failing to stop, driving without due care and driving whilst over the prescribed limit.
