Police cordon set up in Sheffield Street after concerns for safety of woman
A police cordon was set up today after concerns for the safety of a woman near the Northern General Hospital.
Blyde Road off Herries Road was closed off as a precaution as police and an ambulance attended the scene.
A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said:"Police were called at around 11am to reports of a concern for the safety for a woman in Barnsley Road, Fir Vale. Police attended the scene and the woman was taken to hospital via ambulance. "
