Police confirm man, 22, died after suffering medical episode in flat on Sheffield estate

A man, aged 22, died after suffering a medical episode in a flat on a Sheffield estate.

Emergency services were deployed to Batemoor Road, Batemoor, after the young man’s plight was reported just after 7pm yesterday.

South Yorkshire Police said despite efforts to save the man's life he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.

An air ambulance was scrambled to Batemoor and a number of police cars also arrived at the scene due to crowds gathering as the incident unfolded.

South Yorkshire Police said: “The man was 22 years old. The incident was at a property on Batemoor Road.

"Officers were dispatched to assist with the incident as crowds were gathering around the air ambulance, assistance with traffic was also required as a bus was on the road.

“They would have also conducted enquiries and supported the family.”

The man who died has not been named.
