There have been a number of shootings in and around Nether Edge over recent weeks, leaving residents fearful that there may have been another gun attack but firearms have not been referred to by the police.

Last month guns were fired in Machon Bank and nearby Glen Road, both in Nether Edge.

Windows were smashed in both incidents.

A dog was shot in nearby Abbeydale Road.

In May, two rival groups opened fire at each other in Machon Bank, Nether Edge and a house window was shot in nearby Union Street.

A 53-year-old man was also shot in Club Garden Road in neighbouring Sharrow.
