Cy Wayne Anderson, 53, of Firshill Crescent, Sheffield, was found by police with a sandwich bag with cannabis inside, according to a Sheffield Magistrates’ Court hearing, and following a search, a small amount of cocaine was also found in his wallet.

Robert Coyne, prosecuting, told the hearing on January 23 that police had responded to report of a man refusing to leave a property on Handsworth Road, Sheffield, and they found the defendant lying down with the sandwich bag next to him.

Anderson told police the cannabis was for his own use and he claimed he had been given the cocaine some time ago but he does not use this drug.

He pleaded guilty to possessing class B drug cannabis and to possessing class A drug cocaine.

Magistrates fined Anderson £80 and ordered him to pay £85 costs and a £32 victim surcharge.
