Police called to reports of ANOTHER Sheffield park fight

Police were called to reports of another fight at one of Sheffield’s parks as large crowds gathered on the hottest day of the year.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said they received a call at 8.45pm on Thursday to report disorder at Ruskin Park, Walkley.

That afternoon about 40 people spread across several clusters were gathered by the park’s football pitch, with a pickup vehicle parked on the mound at the side of the pitch.

Posting on Facebook, one woman claimed “It was kicking off” at the park on Thursday evening.

Officers attended the scene but the group had dispersed before they arrived. No reports of assault were made.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: “We received a call last night (25 June) at 8:45pm for reports of disorder in Ruskin Park in Sheffield.

“Officers were sent to the scene. The reported group had dispersed before officers’ arrival. No reports of assault were made to officers.”
