Police arrested two men in ‘2 for 1 Xmas Deal’

As Christmas is just around the corner, the police in Sheffield got into the festive spirit by injecting some humour into an otherwise serious arrest.

The Parson Cross team arrested two men in what they called a '2 for 1 Xmas Deal'.

"It was two more for the naughty list today as the Parson Cross Team opened their van doors for detention numbers 96 and 97 of the year as we close in on the century.

"Number 96, a 36-year-old male was arrested on Rasien Hall Road for shoplifting offences. He was then taken to custody for process following which we have remanded him for court tomorrow.

"Currently on a suspended sentence it could be sleigh bells in the cells for him this Christmas.

"Number 97, a 28-year-old male was then arrested on Crowder Avenue having been wanted by the courts since late summer.

"His attempts to wrap himself in white sheets and roll under a bed as the ghost of Christmas past failed miserably and it was off to the cells for him.

"Door numbers 98,99 and 100 to be opened in the coming days."
