Police appeal for witnesses after a woman has died following a suspected hit-and-run in Sheffield

A 25-year-old man has been arrested by South Yorkshire Roads Policing officers following a fatal collision in Sheffield.

Police received reports about 5.50pm, on Saturday, February 15, that a woman was lying injured at Fox Hill Crescent, Sheffield, about 20metres from the Edge Well Crescent junction after being involved in a collision with an unidentified vehicle.

The 64-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the vehicle failed to stop at the scene.

A 25-year-old Sheffield man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and for other alleged driving offences.

Police are keen to hear from witnesses or anyone who may have seen a vehicle travelling through the Fox Hill area at the time of the collision.

Officers want to hear from motorists who may hold dashcam footage.

Those with information are urged to call police on 101 quoting incident number 702 of February 15.
