Police appeal for witnesses after man shot in Sheffield

Police have launched an investigation after a man was shot in a Sheffield suburb earlier this week.

It is reported that at around 7pm on Tuesday (January 7), police were called to reports of a man with injuries to his arm consistent with a shotgun discharge, on Carlisle Street in Burngreave.

The 44-year-old victim was taken to hospital for treatment for his injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening.

Extensive enquiries have been undertaken to find who is responsible, however no one has yet been arrested.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.
