Police appeal to trace wanted South Yorkshire sex offender

A police hunt is under way for a South Yorkshire sex offender.

Thomas Braithwaite, aged 24 and from Barnsley is a registered sex offender and following his release from prison has failed to notify authorities of his address or contact officers from the police offender management team as required.

Detective Sergeant Helena Day, of South Yorkshire Police, said: “Braithwaite was wanted earlier this year on prison recall, since serving the remainder of his sentence he has failed to comply with his order and make contact with his probation officer.

“We are keen to locate Braithwaite and ensure he does not pose a risk to our communities.

“We are continuing to carry out extensive enquiries to locate him but are now asking you, the public to help us.”

Anyone with information on is whereabouts should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 and quote crime reference number 14/112103/20.
