Police appeal for information after dogs were stolen in Doncaster

Police in Doncaster have issued an appeal for information after two dogs were reported stolen from their owner's garden in broad daylight last Friday (December 18).

South Yorkshire Police said they have received a report that unidentified persons in a blue Ford Transit van pulled up outside the rear of a property on The Crescent, Woodlands at 2pm.

The dogs, both female Sprocker Spaniels, were in a pen in the back garden when the incident occurred.

The brown spaniel is four months old and the blue spaniel is three years old.

In a statement, the police said: "Two unknown men from the van are believed to have entered the garden, stolen the dogs, and left the scene in the van.

"Initial enquiries have revealed that the blue van was using false plates - the registration read PY06 KVC.

"Did you see the van in the area on Friday afternoon? Have you seen either of these dogs?"

Those with information are urged to call the police on 101 quoting crime number 14/185164/20.
