Police are appealing for help after a body was found following a suspected fatal collision in South Yorkshire.

South Yorkshire Police received reports of a road traffic collision on Long Road, Brampton-en-le-Morthen at 8.30pm on Tuesday, 18 February.

Officers attended the scene and searched the area. They later recovered the vehicle involved in the crash – a black Citroen Picasso.

At 8.30am on Wednesday (19 February) police were informed the body of a man had been found on Long Road, close to the incident.

The man, a 74-year-old, was pronounced dead at the scene. His family are being supported by specially trained officers.

Long Road was closed to allow officers to investigate, but has since reopened.

Now police want to hear from motorists in the area yesterday. They are particularly keen to hear from anyone with dashcam footage.
