Police appeal after 32-year-old man and his dog are hit in fatal Barnsley collision

South Yorkshire Police are appealing for information and dashcam footage following a fatal collision in Barnsley this morning (13 January).

Just before 8.30am this morning, police received reports of a collision between a silver Kia Rio and a pedestrian on Oaks Lane.The vehicle had been travelling in the direction of Pontefract Road when it is reported to have mounted the pavement and collided with the pedestrian who was walking his dog.The pedestrian, a 32-year-old man, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene by officers. The dog also died.Police are asking anyone who saw the collision, who saw the car prior to the collision, or who may have dashcam footage, to contact them.They would also like to speak to anyone who stopped to help at the scene.Please call 101 quoting incident number 150 of 13 January 2020.
