PICTURES: Dramatic scenes in Sheffield after gunman opens fire at taxi driver

These are the dramatic scenes in Sheffield after shots were fired at a taxi driver last night.

At around 9.35pm a white taxi parked up on Margate Drive, Grimesthorpe, before a blue Audi pulled alongside the vehicle and fired at the taxi.

The Audi then left the scene and the three taxi passengers, believed to be three men in their 20’s, also left the scene.

The driver of the taxi was uninjured, but damage was caused to the vehicle.

A short time later, officers detained and arrested a 23-year-old man on suspicion of firearms offences. He remains in custody at this time.

The incident happened on October 29
At around 9.35pm a white taxi was parked on Margate Drive

The Audi then left the scene.
The passengers of the taxi, believed to be three men in their 20s, also left the scene.

Detective Inspector Lee Nesbeth said enquiries are ongoing
"I would like to identify and speak to the passengers of the taxi who left the scene."
"There is a possibility that one, or more, of the occupants of the vehicle are injured and may need medical treatment."
