Photo shows damage to car shot at in Sheffield on Friday night

A photo has emerged which shows the damage to a car that was shot at in Sheffield on Friday night.

At around 7:30pm last night police received a report of damage to an address in Union Street. When officers arrived they discovered damage to a window “consistent with a firearms discharge.”

A car window which was shot at in Nether Edge.

The incident was the the fourth city shooting in less than 24 hours and police believe it is linked to another shooting in nearby Machon Bank, which took place less than one hour earlier.

At around 6:54pm, police were called to Machon Bank after receiving reports from residents that two rival groups fired gunshots at each other.

Upon arrival police discovered damage to two vehicles and a window of a nearby property consistent with firearm discharge. A firearm at a location near to Machon Bank was later recovered, police said.
