The 78-year-old woman said the incident occurred on Wednesday morning shortly after she withdrew her pension at a nearby post office.

She said: “I went to Aldi to do my shopping and came out and saw it was missing. Not sure if I dropped it or somebody took it. I really don't know.”

She said she was then notified by her bank that some cash was withdrawn and there had been a subsequent attempt to withdraw about £400 from her account.

“But the bank has blocked that (the transaction). They have blocked all my cards,” the OAP said.

“I am just shaken, I feel sick. I could do without all this because I just had a triple bypass surgery and this happened.”
