Parents warned as man arrested in Doncaster for making cannabis gummy bears

Police in Doncaster have warned parents to be on their guard after a man was arrested for making cannabis gummy bears.

Officers raided a house in Bentley this morning, arresting a 25-year-old man on suspicion of possession and intent to supply after a number of drug products were seized at the address.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said that a ‘quantity of cannabis edibles and equipment for making them’ had been removed from the premises by officers.

A statement added: “One to be aware of for any parents in the local area, or anyone who may come across gummys in similar packaging.”

In recent months, hundreds of gummy bears laced with cannabis and looking similar to children’s sweets, have been seized by forces across the country.

The home made sweets are infused with cannabis oil and sometimes have packaging similar to traditonal sweets.
