Pair arrested over robbery

a MAN and woman have been quizzed by police and released on bail over a robbery in which an elderly couple were tied up in their Rotherham home.

The man, aged in his 30s and the woman in her 20s were arrested on Saturday in connection with the robbery in Nether Haugh, near Wentworth.

A couple in their 70s were asleep in bed when two masked raiders, one brandishing a weapon, broke into their farmhouse.

The robbers tied up the husband and wife while they ransacked their home before fleeing with hundreds of pounds and jewellery.
