Pair arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after Sheffield shootings

A 20-year-old man was arrested in Retford, Nottinghamshire, last night and a 24-year-old woman was arrested in Sheffield.
Both were held overnight on suspicion of attempted murder.
They were arrested after a shootings in Errington Avenue, Arbourthorne, shortly before 9.45pm on Tuesday, June 30 and another on Aylward Road at 9.53pm.

Hide AdDetective Chief Inspector Paul Murphy, of South Yorkshire Police, said: “We have worked hard overnight to arrest two people in connection with the shootings.
“We know this type of criminality has devastating impacts on our communities and we are committed to ensuring that those involved are brought before the courts.
“We are treating this as a targeted attack and do not believe that there is a wider risk to the public.
“Our teams are there to reassure you that we are doing all we can to tackle this organised criminality.”
