Details of the incident have not yet been released by South Yorkshire Police but local residents saw a police car outside the premises, where damage is visible to the perimeter fencing at the rear of the pharmacy.

Councillor Ben Miskell, who represents the Manor Top area, said: “It’s disappointing that people appear to have attacked such a key premises in our local community, right in the middle of a global pandemic and at Christmas time.

“People in Arbourthorne and the Manor rely on local businesses like our pharmacist and they will be outraged to hear of this criminality.

“Some people seem intent on using the relative quietness of Christmas to cause havoc in our communities.”
