a TOTAL of 104 motorists were caught over the limit or refused to give a breath test when stopped during Derbyshire Police’s annual festive drink-driving crackdown.

During December, 895 motorists were stopped on Derbyshire’s roads. The year before 656 motorists were stopped and 105 gave a positive test or refused to be breathalysed.

A total of 28 people rang Crimestoppers to report drink drivers during the campaign, where rewards of up to £1,000 were on offer for information leading to charges, although every caller turned down the money.
