A BOGUS builder is believed to have struck at least four times - preying on elderly residents in Worksop and Carlton-in-Lindrick.

The same man is thought to be responsible for incidents between January 16 and February 28, in which elderly people were conned out of cash after being told they needed building or repair work carried out.

Police said the victims were then escorted to their banks or local cashpoints after being told the jobs needed to be paid for in advance - but the work was never done. One victim paid more than £2,000.

The man being hunted by police is white with a tanned complexion, aged 40 to 50 years old, and around 5ft 6ins to 5ft 8ins tall.

He is stocky, clean shaven, has a round face, and has short brown or black hair.
