A PENSIONER was taken to hospital with serious head, chest and back injuries after a road smash in Rotherham.

The 84-year-old woman was a passenger in a Toyota Yaris which clipped a parked Toyota Land Cruiser then careered into three parked cars in Church Street, Greasborough.

The Yaris driver, a 62-year-old Swinton woman, suffered slight neck and chest injuries.

She was taken to Rotherham hospital but was not detained.

The driver of the Peugeot, a 27-year-old Greasbrough woman, also had slight neck and chest injuries and was taken to hospital then discharged.

The smash happened just before 5pm on Monday evening.
