Nuisance neighbour banned from Sheffield estate in 2018 – now terrorising a new street
Concerns have been raised with Sheffield Council and South Yorkshire Police about a ‘nuisance neighbour’ on a Sheffield estate.
The man, who lives on Ironside Walk, Gleadless Valley, moved to the estate after being served with a Criminal Behaviour order banning him from parts of Woodhouse in 2018.
The four-year order also bans him from engaging in anti-social behaviour or inciting others to commit such behaviour.
But problems are now said to have arisen in the area where he currently lives, with complaints about him lodged with both South Yorkshire Police and Sheffield Council.
Residents in the block of flats where he lives say their life has been made a misery for the last 18 months.
They complain of him being abusive, taking drugs, using threatening behaviour, having drug users in his flat and using his flat as a brothel.
The council has provided 'diary sheets' for residents to fill in to record incidents.
But neighbours are now calling for more action including a closure order for the flat, which would ban him and others from the council property.
Sergeant Ben Hanson, of South Yorkshire Police, said: “We look into all matters of anti-social behaviour as reported to us by residents as we know the impact that this behaviour can have on the quality of life experienced by our local communities.
“We will continue to work with Sheffield Council to look at any issues raised and work together to try and reach long term solutions to such issues.
“We would encourage residents to continue to report any issues of anti-social behaviour, so we can build up evidence to take the necessary action if required.”
Councillor Paul Wood, Executive Member for Housing, Roads and Waste Management at Sheffield City Council, said: “We are aware of the situation and the problems this is causing for neighbouring residents.
“We understand how frustrating it must be for tenants as nobody should have to live with anti-social behaviour on their doorsteps and I would like to reassure residents that we are working hard to find a solution.
“A review of the situation is being carried out and if there is evidence of breaches to the tenancy, we will take swift action to resolve these.”
