A house has been boarded up after neighbours complained about anti-social behaviour at the property.

Bolsover District Council obtained a Court Order to seal up the house on Shuttlewood Road, Shuttlewood, for three-months.

Northern Derbyshire Magistrates Court heard tenant Caroline Moss subjected local residents to repeated anti-social behaviour and distress.

Bolsover District Council has received a series of complaints about shouting, screaming and loud music.

Cabinet Member for Community Cohesion, Councillor Karl Reid, said: “This was a huge problem which was causing distress to local residents – distress that no-one should have to put up with.

“We knew we had to act to stamp out the problem so we had no hesitation in using the Closure Powers.

“This should also serve as a warning.”
