Next court date set for Sheffield teenager accused of murder after the death of father-of-two

A teenager accused of murder after the death of a 35-year-old father-of-two is facing a crown court trial.

Sheffield Crown Court heard yesterday, on September 1, how the 17-year-old, of Sheffield, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with the murder of Marcus Ramsay and with possessing a bladed article.

The teenager originally appeared before Sheffield Magistrates’ Court last week and he was remanded in custody ahead of yesterday's preliminary crown court hearing.

Mr Ramsay, a father-of-two, of Sheffield, was stabbed in the early hours of Saturday, August 8, after reports of a large-scale disorder in Horninglow Road, at Firth Park, Sheffield, according to South Yorkshire Police.

The teenager, who has not yet indicated pleas, has had his case further adjourned until November 16 for a further case management hearing prior to a listed trial hearing scheduled for February 1, 2021.
