NEWS IN BRIEF: Witness appeal after car hit bus

police are hunting a driver who failed to stop after causing another motorist to hit a bus on Sheffield Parkway.

It happened between Derek Dooley Way and Nunnery Square after a Toyota Yaris moved from lane three to lane two, forcing the driver of a Hyundai Coupe to take evasive action. The Hyundai hit a bus. Anyone with information about the crash on Tuesday, February 14, 5.25pm, call police on 101.

Club attack riddle

A MAN aged 19 suffered a fractured skull and a split lip in an attack in a Rotherham club. The man, from East Dene, was with friends at Tryst when he was punched. He told police he does not remember the attack, at 12.45am on January 7.

Burglary charges

A MAN has been charged with distraction burglaries across Sheffield. Malcolm Page, aged 37, of Bowshaw View, Batemoor, is accused of conning his way into homes to commit three attempted burglaries, one burglary with intent, one burglary with violence and one robbery. He is remanded in custody ahead of a crown court hearing on March 16.

Motorcycle death

A MOTORCYCLIST killed in a collision near Clumber Park at the weekend has been named by police. Mark Stacey, aged 42, from Retford, was riding a Triumph Daytona motorbike which collided with a blue Ford Mondeo on the A614 at 9.45am on Saturday. He died at the scene.
