News In Brief: Suspect held after Land Rover pursuit

A POLICE pursuit was mounted after officers spotted a Land Rover they believed to have been stolen in north Derbyshire.

Officers tried to make the driver stop in Main Road, Stretton, about 12.25am yesterday but he drove off through Teversal and Pleasley before stopping in a car park at Mill Street, Clowne.

He was then arrested on suspicion of failing to stop, dangerous driving and vehicle theft.

Vet foots bill

a KIND-hearted vet who had charity boxes stolen from his surgery has handed over a cash donation, bedding and food to two local animal charities.

James Farrell, head vet at the Dore and Totley Surgery in Totley, made the donation to K9 Dunroamin and Rain Rescue after charity boxes were stolen last month.

Heater fire scare

FIREFIGHTERS were called to a house in Greystones Road, Greystones, Sheffield, after occupants thought a heater was on fire. It was found to have been giving off fumes because water had been spilled on it.

Golf club raid

LEES Hall Golf Club in Norton Lees, Sheffield, was broken into between Monday and Wednesday. A window was smashed and the golf club office was searched. Police are investigating.

House burgled

A HOUSE on Myrtle Crescent, Arbourthorne, Sheffield, was broken into when a patio door was forced open. Anyone with information should call South Yorkshire Police on 101.
