News In Brief: Police investigate three car smash

A POLICE probe is underway into a three-car collision on City Road, Norfolk Park, Sheffield.

Officers were called to the crash scene after a Vauxhall Corsa travelling along City Road was involved in a collision with an Astra leaving Fitzwalter Road. The Corsa then struck a parked Ford Fusion.

Anyone with information about the collision at 6.47pm on Sunday, June 12, should call South Yorkshire Police on 0114 220 2020.

SEVEN cars parked on neighbouring streets in Barnsley went up in flames in arson attacks. Firefighters were alerted to the cars burning on Cross Lane and Bisley Close at around 2.15am yesterday. Some of the vehicles involved were parked on driveways but firefighters prevented the flames from spreading to any homes. A Land Rover, Vauxhall Astra, Ford Mondeo and Toyota Celica were among the vehicles set alight.

FIREFIGHTERS from Dronfield and Staveley were called to grassland, fencing, cut wood and undergrowth found burning on High Street, Apperknowle. They said it was a bonfire which raged out of control.

A FORD transit van found burning on Greenfield Road, East Herringthorpe, Rotherham, had been deliberately set alight. Firefighters tackled the blaze.
