A HOUSEHOLDER aged 57 suffered cuts to his hands from a glass window smashed by three burglars who broke into his house on The Lanes, East Dene, Rotherham, and stole his TV.
The men were white, aged 20 to 25, slim and wearing hooded tops.

NEW regulations are needed to ensure internet service providers stop schoolchildren accessing online porn, a South Yorkshire MP has urged. Denis MacShane, who represents Rotherham, made the plea at a House of Commons Inquiry into Online Child Protection. “It is worrying to think most of our children are just a few clicks away from porn and violent material,” he said.
POLICE patrols have been stepped up around a Sheffield community centre following a spate of vandalism. FIREFIGHTERS were called to a blaze at a house on Firth Road West Melton, Rotherham, after a boiler caught fire. When crews arrived to deal with the incident at 1pm on Wednesday the flames had already gone out.
A STRAY dog running along the M1 northbound yesterday morning led to speed restrictions of 40mph being put in place for an hour. Motorists had reported the dog near junction 29 at around 11am.
OFFICERS in Penistone carrying out speed checks stopped a car and found cannabis inside. When they searched the driver’s house they found a hydroponics set-up. The motorist was arrested.
