THE owner of a car set alight by an arsonist on Wilfred Close, Darnall, Sheffield, managed to put out the flames before firefighters arrived to help.

A Ford Ka found engulfed in flames off Westfield Crescent, Westfield, Sheffield, had been set alight deliberately.

A Toyota on fire on Badsley Street South, Clifton, Rotherham, had developed a battery fault.

Police probe theft

POLICE are investigating the theft of cash stolen from a black cab on Albert Road, Heeley and the theft of belongings left in an unlocked car at Hutcliffe Wood Cemetery. Call 101 with information.

A SHED and a garage were broken into at two properties on Cockshutt Drive, Beauchief, Sheffield. Police are also investigating the break-in of a shed on the Meersbrook Allotments plot in the city.

FIREFIGHTERS were called out to a garden on Edenhall Road, Arbourthorne, Sheffield, after a bonfire started burning out of control.

The fire is not being treated as suspicious.
