A THIRTEENTH arrest has been made in connection with the naming on Twitter of Sheffield United striker Ched Evans’s rape victim.
A man from Rhyl has been held on suspicion of malicious communication, police said. Twelve others, including three men from Sheffield , have been arrested and bailed. Det Sgt Bob Halford said more arrests would be made.
Drug check appeal
METHADONE users are being asked to check their medication after a 500ml bottle of the drug disappeared from Weldricks Pharmacy in Darnall, Sheffield. The chemist is asking people who collected medication on Friday to contact the pharmacy on 0114 244 1749 if they have a bottle of liquid without a label with their name on it.
Surge in thefts
REVELLERS are being urged to keep their belongings safe after a spate of thefts. Over the last three weekends police in Chesterfield have had four reports of thefts of handbags, wallets and mobile phones stolen from pubs and clubs. A similar surge in the same crime was reported in Sheffield.
Rescue after crash
A MAN was rescued and another needed oxygen when a single-decker bus collided with a taxi on Brimington Road, Chesterfield, just after 4.40pm on Wednesday. Firefighters freed a man from the bus and another male passenger was treated for shock, receiving oxygen.
Bike set on fire
A MOTORBIKE was found burning in New Hill Park, New Hill Road, Wath, on Tuesday night and another was found engulfed in flames on East Glade Crescent, Hackenthorpe, Sheffield, earlier in the day. Both had been set alight deliberately. Firefighters dealt with the blazes.
Arson attack on car
A MERCEDES Sprinter people carrier was engulfed in flames near woods on Burying Lane, Wentworth, Rotherham. Firefighters who dealt with the blaze at 11pm on Monday said it was an arson attack.
Pubs pass test
NINE licensed premises in Hillsborough passed test purchase operations where underage volunteers were sent in to try to buy alcohol.
