New pictures show aftermath of dramatic police chase through Sheffield

A 21-year-old man driving a black Ford Mondeo, which was stolen in Derbyshire, was arrested after being pursued by police from the A621 Sheffield Road.

The man crashed the car outside the pharmacy on Abbeydale Road at around 4.30pm. He hit a taxi and a police car, one officer said. Three people were taken to hospital to be treated for minor injuries after the crash.

The pursued driver was arrested on suspicion of two counts of burglary, three counts of robbery, failing to stop and two counts of dangerous driving.

One witness said he was ‘driving like a madman‘ and ‘could easily have killed someone’.
